Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is funding provided to schools and it is additional to main school funding. It is allocated according to the number of pupils on-roll who are eligible for free school meals (FSM), children of service families, or who have been 'Looked After' (in care) for 6 months or more. In 2012, funding was extended to include pupils who may not currently be on FSM but have been eligible within the past 6 years.
At Ashley Down Primary School, our aim is that all pupils leave school with good academic attainment in all subjects and good emotional wellbeing. Our pupil premium strategy outlines actions which aim to achieve the ultimate objective of disadvantaged pupils achieving outcomes in line with non-disadvantaged peers, and to report similar levels of enjoyment and wellbeing at school as non - pupil premium peers.
This strategy has been developed by collecting a range of data to identify precisely the strengths and challenges in provision and outcomes for pupils eligible for pupil premium: through analysing various data sets, speaking to pupils and their families, and through qualitive observations in school.
Our statement describes the targets we have set ourselves, the actions we are taking and evaluates our progress over last year.
