Ashley Down PSA
What is the PSA?
The PSA stands for Parent Staff Association, which is a voluntary organisation of parents/carers and teachers. The main aim of Ashley Down's PSA is to create and maintain a sense of community between families and staff which supports the school as a whole. The PSA are also keen to raise additional funds for the school in order to promote and enrich the fantastic teaching and learning environment which already exists at Ashley Down Primary.
What does the PSA do?
The PSA organises numerous social events throughout the year, which are a great opportunity to get together and have fun, whilst raising a significant amount of money for the school. Events include the Christmas and summer fairs, quiz nights and school discos. Money raised is spent on projects and resources to benefit pupils across the school. Funds are allocated by the PSA following the submission of a bid form to request money; all bids are considered on their own merits.
Who are the PSA?
All parents and teachers are automatically members of the PSA. There is a central committee who plan and co-ordinate events and fundraising activities and we are always keen to welcome more key members. Each year group has class representatives who facilitate the link between parents and school, and vice versa.
How can I help?
The PSA are reliant on a network of supportive parents and teachers. We understand that everyone is busy and spare time is at a premium. We also understand that parents and carers typically want the best for their children, which includes a good education. The PSA provides a fantastic opportunity for parents/ carers to make a tangible contribution towards their child's schooling in whatever way that may be.
